More from Argentina

ARGENTINA FEB.2010 092 One of the most enjoyable aspects of being in the wine business is traveling to various wine areas of the world and discovering new wines.  Tasting that new wine and eating the food they prepared for us to go with it tops it off! In November 2009, I toured the Mendoza wine region of Argentina, that's famous for its incredible Malbec and steak.  I had my fair share of both!

As I mentioned earlier, I was eager to check out the little known white wine famous in this area called Torrontes.  I'm not sure, but it might be that the reason it was so good is because I was in the vineyard touching the Torrontes grapes with my left hand and drinking a glass of Torrontes wine with my right!

ARGENTINA FEB.2010 235 This wine is a must for those of you who enjoy Pinot Grigio.  Without being sweet, it's loaded with tropical fruit flavors and a crisp acidity. So refreshing.

ARGENTINA FEB.2010 089It pairs well with chicken, light fish dishes, shell fish, salads and potato pancakes.

I'll be on the lookout for new wines on my next adventure to share with you!
