Enjoy a Glass of Vernaccia
The beautiful Tuscan hilltop town of San Gimignano is one of those places that should be on everyone's bucket list. Know as "the town of fine towers," San Gimignano is famous for its medieval architecture. The well-preserved tower houses and encircling walls form an unforgettable skyline from a distance.
Once inside the town you will want to explore the many fine examples of Romanesque and Gothic churches and medieval fortifications. After a hard day of sightseeing, there is nothing more enjoyable than sitting down in a piazza and enjoying some of the local vino.
Our professional wine tasting team is about to embark on just such a task.
In San Gimignano we find a distinctive dry white wine made from the local Vernaccia grape. On the rolling hills surrounding the town there are a number of high quality producers of this indgenous grape. It is on one of these hills that the Torre Terze estate is located.
Torre Terze is the home of one of Italy's most dynamic wine producers, Bruna Baroncini. She has built a small empire of great estates but she has never forgotten her roots in San Gimignano.
The Torre Terze Vernaccia di San Gimignano is a classic example of this wine. Apricot and crisp apple notes are followed by bright acidity and a lemon, almond tinged finish. Enjoy this wine with appetizers and seafood whenever you happen to be in San Gimignano.
