A Solution for Market Woes

Today being Friday, I left the house with the intention of buying myself a nice bottle of wine to have with dinner tonight. Maybe a nice Barolo or Brunello di Montalcino. By noontime my friends at NPR told me the stock market was down 300 points. No big deal: my thoughts of Brunello di Montalcino just changed to Rosso di Montalcino. As I was about to head home  around 6:00PM and the market down another 200 points and my 401K worth $15,000 less, thoughts of Rosso di Montalcino turned into Salento Rosso. That whole "consumer confidence" abstract struck me right in the face.

If there was a silver lining to this day it was the I Monili Salento Rosso; truly an unexpected pleasure. Inky crimson in color with mouth-filling flavors, spicy richness, supple body, ripe tannins, great extract and lovely notes of licorice and tobacco. This Apulian blend of 50% Negroamaro and 50% Primativo will be a new favorite in my wine rack. IMG_0171
