HURRY! Blink and Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée Anonyme 2007 will be gone!
Now available at ABC Fine Wine & Spirits is the Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée Anonyme 2007 by Xavier Vignon. The 2007 vintage is considered to be one of the best vintages in recent history in the Southern Rhône Valley and in the Châteauneuf du Pape area in particular. The 2007 Cuvée Anonyme wasn’t released until 2013; the wine went through extended barrel aging for three years in a combination of demi-muids and barriques. The name ‘Anonyme’ refers to the fact that Xavier does not reveal the sources of the grapes; it is a blend of fruit from some of the best domains of the area.
Xavier consults for almost 200 domains in the Rhône Valley and the Languedoc, and manages one of the area's biggest laboratories with a team of 10 oenologists.
He is the consultant oenologist for large number of Châteauneuf du Pape domains, including prominent estates like Raymond Usseglio, La Gardine, Jerome Quiot, Beaurenard, La Nerthe, Mont Redon, Marcoux, Grand Veneur, etc.
It is safe to assume that the 2007 Cuvée Anonyme was blended from grapes originating from some of these estates.
The 2007 Cuvée Anonyme received 96 points by Robert Parker! Parker called it a "sensational wine" that should "drink well for another 15-20 years." In fact, in my experience, after comparative tastings, the 2007 Cuvée Anonyme is the bestChâteauneuf du Pape that Xavier has crafted up to date.
The wine exhibits dark, saturated ruby color, great concentration, power and finesse, multi-layered and focused at the same time with 60+ seconds finish. Decant for an hour before serving.
Do not miss this stunning wine! The quantities available at ABC are limited, and we also have the best price in the country (the average price on Wine Searcher is $55).
Hurry, this will not last!
