The 2008 Prima from Château Carignan is back in stock!
The 2008 Prima from Château Carignan is back in stock in our warehouse and is now available in select stores. The wine came directly from the château’s cellars. This wine has become a favorite among all who have tasted it, and for that reason, we have sold out of it already twice. Good news for the consumer: The wine buyers at ABC have been able to secure the remaining stock at the château of this fabulous wine!
The wine is evolving slowly and gracefully, and is now showing better than ever! The 2008 Prima has received a gold medal at the prestigious Concours de Bordeaux in 2011 and is currently drinking better than the 2009 Prima and 2010 Prima, both rated 93 points by James Suckling.
The 2008 Prima exhibits saturated, dark ruby color, and complex aromatic bouquet of currant, blackberry, cedar and spice. The wine has gained even more body; the mouthfeel is persistent, precise and round, with assertive but silky tannins and rich fruit flavors of black-currant, blackberry and spicy oak. The incredible 30+ seconds finish leaves a velvety sensation. Priced at only $24.99, there is no better wine anywhere at that price or even 2-3 times more.
Another favorite and everyday-useful wine is the second label of Château Carignan, l'Orangerie de Carignan ($12.99), which has also just made it back to an ABC store near you. The Orangerie is the best-selling value red Bordeaux at ABC and best-selling by-the-glass wine (out of thousands) at the restaurants and brasseries in the city of Bordeaux!!
Enjoy!
Atanas Nechkov, ABC Fine Wine & Spirits wine supervisor
