Bordeaux 2011 preview
The vintage has not yet generated very much interest, which could be due to a few things.
Most likely, the vintage will not get the rave reviews of the preceding three: 2008, 2009 and 2010. The vintage 2011 has mixed reviews in France, which should turn out to be a useful (although I hate that word) vintage for restaurants, but not for collectors. The other reason may be related to the prices of 2010 wines as a whole. Of course there are nice values in every vintage, but people tend to remember the vintage based on the prices of the top wines, and in that case, 2010 shocked the world! I cannot say now where we will stand with regards to offering the vintage 2011. I plan to taste in Bordeaux in April and (price depending) have a better idea of which 2011s we will purchase. We will, as always, offer many value wines, and most likely some of the Classified Growths, but just how far up the classification we go it is hard to say.
