Wine and cheese: Pabiot Pouilly Fume and Bijou (Crottin de Chevre)

Food and wine! Nothing I like more than the two. Last night, after a long day selling wine, I opened a bottle of the 2010 Pabiot Pouilly Fume (a wine which I love, and which, by the way, just received 91 points in the Wine Spectator) only because I happened to pick up earlier in the day a few packages of both of our new cheeses from the Vermont Creamery.

We now offer an ash crusted Chevre, as well as another goat’s mike cheese called Bijou. The Bijou (Crottin de Chevre) is modeled after the famous Crottin de Chavignol, which is made just across the river from where Pouilly-Fume comes from. They are a match made in heaven…..a little warm French bread and a cool glass of Sauvignon: life is good! Try them! Merry Christmas!
