New wines from the Languedoc

Chateau Auris and its vineyardsThe wines from Domaine des Bugadelles and Château Auris are the latest addition to our wine selection from the Languedoc region in southern France.

Château Auris is located in the outskirts of the city of Narbonne and Domaine des Bugadelles is in the area called La Clape between Narbonne and the Mediterranean. Each estate comprises 40 ha (99 acres) of vineyards planted to Syrah, Grenache , Mourvedre, Carignan, Cinsault, Marselan, for the Reds (Rosés)and Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, Roussanne, and Viognier for the whites.

Proprietor Jean-Claude Albert purchased Domaine des Bugadelles in 2004 and Château Auris in 2005. Substantial investments have transformed both properties into state-of-the-art, modern wineries with pneumatic presses, temperature controlled stainless steel and concrete vats and complete gravity-flow vinification process.

Since 2009 all vineyards have been farmed organically; the first certified crop is projected for the 2012 vintage.

The available wines are:

Les Bugadelles

Les Bugadelles Rosé 2010 - $10.99

Château Auris Rosé 2011  - $11.99

The reds exhibit wild berry aromas, spice and ripe firm tannins; the whites are full-bodied with aromas and flavors of citrus and tropical fruit, balanced by bright acidity; the rosés are dry and show aromas of violets, crushed red berries and raspberries: perfect refreshment for a hot Florida summer day.
