Sancerre for the summer: Domaine Serge Laloue
Domaine Serge Laloue is a 21 hectares family owned and operated wine estate by the dedicated brother and sister team, Franck and Christine Laloue, second generation continuing the work begun by their father, Serge, in the ‘60s. The vineyards are located mainly around the village of Thauvenay, 5km from the town of Sancerre; 16 hectares are planted to the Sauvignon Blanc and 5 hectares are planted with Pinot Noir for the rosé and red Sancerre. Sustainable farming is practiced in all the domain’s vineyards.
The 2010 Sancerre from Domaine Serge Laloue is now available at ABC Fine Wine & Spirits for only $17.99.
The wine exhibits pure, enticing aromas and flavors of ripe citrus, pink grapefruit and passion-fruit. The mouth-feel is soft and round; the generous fruit is balanced by fresh acidity and solid minerality. Enjoy this wine with your favorite seafood dishes, grilled fish, fresh oysters, or well chilled as aperitif.
