Craft Beer and Baseball

Beer and baseballHave you ever been to a baseball stadium and noticed the longest lines in the venue? Other than the women's restroom line, it is usually the beer lines. Recently, I had the opportunity to attend a game in New York. Initially I was more thrilled about the craft beer selection available than the actual game. I also didn't feel near as bad about dropping $8-$12 a beer. I found that the local craft beer selection made the game even more enjoyable. I could not agree more with thefullpint.com’s statement, "Major League Baseball parks understand the importance of and for the most part, local craft beer."

"The availability of craft beer at ballparks is one more ounce of proof that the gospel of micro-brewed, quality made beers is spreading. Sports are so integrated within our culture:  they are one of the few things that can bring us all together.  The fact that craft beer is slowly weaving its way into this world is a step in the right direction," written on thesmokeypint.com

After experiencing a game recently and doing some research, I have found that not only is baseball an American pastime, but craft beer has become part of the tradition that brings us together. Beer has made such an impact that many stadiums are named after and/or are sponsored by beer companies. According to bleacherreort.com, "Stadiums are built for the enjoyment of the fans, and every stadium has something unique about it. Whether it is a restaurant built inside the stadium, or even just a unique food that has become a fan favorite, each stadium is built with the intention of it being the best and attracting fans." Another fun fact is several stadiums are noted for having brewpubs in them. What is your favorite team or stadium?
