Cows 'n Cabs 2014
The fourth annual Cows 'n Cabs event took place last Saturday evening in Winter Park's West Meadow 150 North New York Avenue.
Cows ‘n Cabs is a fundraiser to benefit non-profit charities that assist families in need within the Central Florida area. The “Western” themed wine and food event featured live entertainment, including a live music performance, silent auction and a raffle with all proceeds benefitting Coalition for the Homeless and Community Food and Outreach.
Our guests had the opportunity to sample fine dishes from 20 of Winter Park's and Orlando’s finest restaurants, including Norman’s and 4 Rivers, plus over 200 wines, spirits and craft beers.
Simply put, this is the best party in town!
The favorite Champagne of the evening was Haton Classic Brut N.V. ($32.99), but the biggest surprise was a Spanish cava called Dominio de la Peseta. Dominio de la Peseta is the best value in sparkling wine ever, priced at only $11.
Voted best red was Chapoutier’s Bila-Haut L’Esquerda 2011 ($18.99), an organic red wine from the Roussillon area in southwestern France, followed closely by Domaine Magellan Pezenas 2010 ($17.99), another organic blend of 50% Syrah and 50% Grenache from the Languedoc region.
The top two whites were Jackie Sauvignon Blanc 2013, Napa Valley ($16.99) and Block 516 Chardonnay 2012 from Russian River Valley ($18.99).
Cows 'n Cabs will be back in 2015--you don't want to miss it!
