New wine: 2010 La Croix de Bila-Haut from Michel Chapoutier
2010 La Croix de Bila-Haut, IGP Cotes Catalanes from Michel Chapoutier is a new addition to our ABC Wine portfolio.
This wine is a blend of Syrah, Grenache, and Carignan sourced from vineyards throughout Roussillon. The tank-fermented 2010 La Croix de Bila-Haut exhibits aromas and flavors of crushed red berries, strawberry jam and a hint of spice. Medium-bodied, refreshing with good balance and long pleasant finish. This lively red wine would be refreshing to drink cool on a warm summer's night.
Michel Chapoutier purchased domain Bila-Haut in 1999; the name refers to an old farm villa which was built high into the mountain slopes among some old vineyards. The Domaine comprises 75 hectares of land cultivated under bio-dynamic farming techniques and is characterized by steep pebbly slopes rising almost 150 meters above sea level. The reds are blends of Syrah, Grenache and Carignan; each of the three varieties is hand-harvested to ensure precise and consistent ripeness.
La Croix de Bila-Haut 2010 is priced at $11.99.
